Blue Thumb Stream Health Dashboard

Volunteer Jacob Askey partnered with Blue Thumb to develop an interactive dashboard for historical Blue Thumb data. This resource compiles all historical data collected by Blue Thumb volunteers and provides clear, informative insights to help users better understand what the data reveals about the creek’s health.

Chisholm Creek, Oklahoma County

Volunteer Beverly Woodrome and Blue Thumb staff took a group of University of Central Oklahoma students to Chisholm Creek. During the "in stream" lessons, Beverly shared about her monitoring experiences and summarized what her biological data could tell us about the highly urbanized creek. Beverly also partnered with the Edmond Library to host an education event offering a great deal of information about water quality and Chisholm Creek.

Salt Fork of the Arkansas River, Woods County

Volunteer Dr. Steve Thompson created a presentation of data he has collected on the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River since monitoring with Blue Thumb. He shared this presentation with the Woods County Conservation District Board and, in early 2026, at a public education event in Alva. Dr. Thompson also rallied the help of additional volunteers to provide stream protection information in association with NWOSU's Natural History Museum.

Sugar Creek, Tulsa County

Volunteers Joanna Taulman and Kathryn Perdue worked several weekends throughout 2025 engaging with citizens in their watershed through a trash clean-up, nonpoint source pollution education event, family item/clothing swap, and pollinator plant giveaway. They have plans to continue this work in 2026!

Tributary to the Arkansas River, Osage County

In June, Volunteer Brandee Harris worked in conjunction with the City of Sand Springs to educate Sand Springs residents about the tributary she monitors by putting together an exhibit at Charles Page Library. Brandee also provided information about the Tributary to the Arkansas River that she monitors at various events including a summer reading program, a farmers market, and Monarchs on the Mountain festival at Chandler Park.
